Election Day has come and gone. The equity markets saw the projected blue wave revised to a swift tsunami of gridlock-anticipated optimism. Joe Biden became the president-elect, while Congress maintained its leadership leanings.
Since WWII, there have been nine times that the president of one party surrendered the reins of power to the newly elected president of the opposing party. As a result, investors may wonder how the markets may perform as we close out 2020 and move into the New Year.
During the session, which was by moderated by Director of Equity Research Ken Leon, CFRA Chief Investment Strategist Sam Stovall, CFRA Equity Analysts Matthew Miller and Colin Scarola provided CFRA's U.S. economy and investment outlook for equities and funds for the closing month of 2020 and into 2021.
